چکیده

Abstract The resource of shear resistance provided by the dowel mechanism rebar in reinforced concrete (RC) structures can significantly affected simultaneous presence axial loading. This occurs for example plastic hinges seismic resistant structures. In fact, at load reversals cycles large deformation demand, rebars are subjected to combined and loading, particularly those section where transfer via aggregate interlocking is jeopardized opening crack throughout entire depth. Thus, a reliable assessment capacity dowels under required check element resistance. paper describes results specific experimental campaign on loading different levels load. Both smooth ribbed were investigated. A marked reduction strength stiffness increasing was experimentally observed, only partially compensated kinking effect. latter found characterize when close yielding strength. proposes an analytical model, adapted from others available literature, predict shear-displacement response accounting applied model helps understanding response, suitable hand calculation easily assist design. quite well captured dowels, while prediction less accurate ones. Future refinements may address local damage induce pull-out, typical rebars, which neglected present form model.

Dynamic Enhancement and Multi-axial Behavior of Honeycombs under Combined Shear- Compression Doctoral Committee

III Abstract: This study aims at the energy absorption problems in the crash of high speed vehicles, bird impact and crashworthiness design of aircraft, and the dynamic enhancement and multi-axial behavior of honeycombs under combined shearcompression are investigated. The study consists mainly of two parts. The first part is related to the dynamic strength enhancement of honeycombs under uniax...

Stability Analysis of Laminated Cylindrical Shells under Combined Axial Compression and Non-Uniform External Pressure

This study investigates geometrical non-linear analysis of composite circular cylindrical shells under external pressure over part of their surfaces and also shells subjected to combined axial compression and triangular external pressure. Donnell non-linear shell theory along with first order shear deformation theory (FOSD) are adopted in the analysis. In the case of combined axial compression ...

Bending Analysis of Multi-Layered Graphene Sheets Under Combined Non-Uniform Shear and Normal Tractions

Bending analysis of multilayer graphene sheets (MLGSs) subjected to non-uniform shear and normal tractions is presented. The constitutive relations are considered to be non-classical based on nonlocal theory of elasticity. Based on the differential transformation method, numerical illustrations are carried out for circular and annular geometries. The effects of nano scale parameter, radius of c...

Anelastic Behaviour of Materials under Multi-axial Strains

A theory of anelasticity is presented, which involves the relaxation of all the elastic compliances as a function of orientation. It is shown that. in addition to the usual relaxations of Young's and shear moduli. anelastic phenomena related to the relaxation of Poisson's ratio should be considered. Finally, the theory is applied to anelastic data in Zircaloy-4 and AISI-1080 steel. obtained in ...
